Welcome to Inspired-Housewife!
My name is Amee, and I am an “Inspired-Housewife.” I have always shared my life openly with people with the hope it will help in some way. I went to college and fell head over high heels in love with writing. There is nothing better than to sit down with a pen and a paper to pour your heart out. I love to share my experiences and what I find works in life, but most importantly to express to others what inspires me to live and thrive each day.
The deep desire to start Inspired-Housewife came when my oldest was born. My son Tristan is a miracle baby and should not even be here, but God has bigger plans for my son. Over and over I received e-mails asking how Tristan was doing. We are a military family, and when we moved or met someone new the same questions would be asked. Weary of rewriting his struggles and triumphs, I decided the best place was to put it all on a blog. My hope was Inspired-Housewife would find others who suffered like he did and create awareness. It has done that and more.
I grew up in Montana the “Big Sky” state with wide open spaces, and even though I have not lived there full-time since I was 19 my heart never left. I am the middle child of seven daughters, yes you read correctly. SEVEN girls. I come from a blended family of half, whole, and adopted siblings, but all my sisters are just that: my sisters. When I was eight my dad taught me how to drive his Ford F150 on the back country roads. My legs were so short that when I would shift I could not see where I was going. Luckily for him the only thing I ever damaged was a bent exhaust pipe from backing into a boulder.
I met my husband on a Colorado mountainside, where our eyes met and it was love at first sight. I married my “Superman” after only a few shorts months, and life has been an adventure ever since. We have lived all over the United States and in Germany. My two favorite places to be stationed are Maine and Germany. I loved the coastal towns of Maine, and the people there are down home and friendly. Europe was an awesome experience for my husband and I. My favorite town in all of Germany was Rothenburg, the oldest walled city in Germany, and it boasts many wonderful shops, gardens. It is a perfect romantic getaway.
I am a blessed mother of three beautiful children: Tristan, Keira, and Ayla. Each of my children is unique in their own way, and it is fun to see their little personalities mature as they grow. Becoming a mother was not something on my grownup bucket list of things to accomplish, but after teaching special needs children for two years in Germany, I had a change of heart. Unknowingly, I think I was being prepared for the journey with my son, because my experiences in the classroom have helped me tremendously as a special needs mother.
